Method and independence
How we compare, and how we make money
Short version: we read the seller's own page, we write down what it says and when, and nothing on this site is paid for.
Where the numbers come from
- The provider list is the CAA's, not ours. We take it from the CAA's register of approved training providers and add sellers we find marketing CAA courses who are not on it, clearly marked.
- Every price is read from the seller's own website. Not from aggregators, not from review blogs, not from last year's screenshot. Each row links to the page we read it on.
- Every price carries the date we checked it. Currently 8 September 2026 across the board.
- We record the VAT basis, because sellers do not. Some quote inc VAT, some add it at checkout, most say nothing at all. Where a site quotes ex-VAT we convert at 20% and show the original figure so you can check the arithmetic.
- We do not average anything. No composite scores, no five-star ratings assembled from sources that measured different things.
What we have not done
We have not taken these courses. This is a price and approval comparison, not a review of teaching quality, and we will not pretend otherwise. If that changes — if we sit a course and can say something first-hand — the page will say exactly what we did and what we paid.
We are not a certifying body and we cannot approve anyone. The CAA does that.
Money
No link on this site is paid or affiliate. Nobody has paid to appear, to rank higher, or to have a line removed.
That may change. If we ever earn a commission on a link, the row carrying that link will say so in plain words, on the row itself — not in a footer, not in a page you have to go looking for. A paid relationship will never change a provider's position in a table, because the tables sort by price and nothing else.
We will not accept an arrangement that stops us listing a competitor.
Corrections
If a price here is wrong, out of date, or reads unfairly, tell us and we will fix it and date the fix: corrections@certifiedtofly.com. That includes providers — especially providers. If you publish a price we have missed, send the link and it goes in.
What we add to the links out
Every link from this site to a seller carries tracking parameters —
utm_source=certifiedtofly.com and the page the click came from. They exist so
the seller can see us in their own analytics: a provider looking at where their traffic
comes from will find this site by name, and which of our pages sent it.
Two things they are not. They are not affiliate codes: nobody pays us for a click, and no money moves when you follow one. And they are not applied to sources — links to the CAA, to legislation, to the FAA and to other regulators are citations and go untagged, because tagging a source you are quoting would be absurd.
If you would rather not carry them, delete everything from the question mark onwards in the address bar. The page you land on is the same page.
